Users have reported since Monday night (22) an error box in Google’s system warning that apps ‘continually fail’.
Android phone users have reported since the night of last Monday (22) an error that suddenly closes several applications, showing the message of “continuous failures”.
Android developer Google admitted the error and said it was related to an update to WebView, a feature that displays web pages within apps.
To resolve the issue, users need to update WebView and Google Chrome via the Play Store (Android app store):
open the Play Store on your phone;
look for “Android System WebView” or tap this link;
select the “Update” option;
and also update the Google Chrome app.
The company said it had resolved the error on its support page at 6:30 am (Brasília time) on Tuesday (23).
If the update to WebView is not available and the error message persists:
go to Settings;
look for the “Applications” option;
find the “Android System WebView” and tap it;
select the “Uninstall updates” option;
and, if the option is not available, disable Google Chrome and install updates on the Play Store.
