The function is available in both the television, browser and mobile versions of Netflix, so it will reach all users of the platform starting today.
If you’re worried about Netflix putting something you don’t like, don’t worry so much – the mode isn’t as random as it sounds. The first, because as soon as you press, it puts you in front of several options from which to choose: a movie, the first chapter of a series, a program that you have not seen in a long time … There are several options that limit what you see.
On the other hand, the algorithm also comes into play here. Because Netflix knows you very well, it knows your tastes and will not put you in a documentary about Serengeti animals if you have never seen a nature program before. Although maybe you should see one, for a change.

Either because they have much more competition (and very tough, in the case of Amazon and Disney) or because they are adapting to how users’ habits change. Of course, not everything can be good. Since Netflix allows sharing accounts between family members and since many people used this to divide the monthly fee, they will very soon limit how a single account can be distributed among several people so as not to lose that money.
