The tweet is for sale as an NFT, a kind of digital certificate, and has already received a bid of US $ 2.5 million (R $ 13.7 million at the current price).
“I’m creating my Twttr account,” tweeted the platform’s founder, Jack Dorsey, on March 21, 2006, marking the social network’s first steps 15 years ago.
Launched to the public only on July 15, 2006, the site would still change its name about six months later, adopting the spelling we know today: Twitter.
The short text marked the birth of the platform that today has more than 190 million active users per day and is highly popular in the political, economic and journalistic sectors.
In these 15 years, Twitter has become a key player in the social media sector, collecting controversies.
One of the last occurred in January, when the platform decided to block the account of the then President of the United States, Donald Trump, one of his main communication tools and where he accumulated 88 million followers, for inciting violence, after the invasion of Congress by your followers.
The exclusion of the head of state gave rise to applause and criticism, a sign of the complex balance between neutrality, defense of freedom of expression and moderation with which platforms must work.
