As an alternative to WhatsApp, Telegram does not stop growing both in functions and in daily users
Telegram is a popular messaging app, but not as popular as WhatsApp. However, both its developers and its users have always prided themselves on having many more possibilities and options. And it seems that it will continue to do so.
Telegram has introduced native payments in the messaging application through credit card with third-party providers such as Stripe, along with new web versions of the service that do not need installation.
Support for payments has been active in Telegram since 2017 through bots. The latest update to the application introduces native support for payments through merchant-customer chats, as reported by the company.
For payments, Telegram has integrated the services of eight external providers, such as Stripe or Payme. There is also the option for buyers to add a tip. They are available in both the mobile and web version.
Voice chats also have news. Administrators can schedule one of these chats for a specific day and time, which will display a countdown at the top of the chat.
Mini-profiles have also been introduced, allowing you to enter a photo and a biography that other voice chat users can refer to to find out who else is participating.

Telegram will also incorporate video into voice chats in May, a function that will make it possible to enhance group calls within the platform, which will have encryption and allow screen sharing.
The messaging application introduced voice chats in December, and since March also on public channels and groups, where there is no limit on the number of listeners. This Wednesday, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the introduction of a “video dimension” next month.
Through Telegram, Durov has assured that he will make this service “the most powerful platform for group video calls”, as it will contain functions and features such as shared screen, encryption and noise cancellation, as well as support for tablets.
NEW WEB VERSIONS
Telegram has had a web version since 2014, but now it has introduced two new web applications for its messaging service, accessible from both a computer and a mobile phone, with all functions, including animated stickers, dark mode or folders.
The company allows access to both versions (Web K and Web Z) so that users decide which one they like the most. Both are also efficient, since they don’t need any installation, just a 400KB download.
The company points out that these two new websites, like the rest of the applications already available, are “autonomous”, that is, users do not have to have a mobile phone nearby or connected to the Internet to use them, once they have logged in.
